Bahti,
You are Replying to a question which, after Googling, I see
was asked and answered in 2001.

thanks very much for the explanation. I have to admit you guys are
ahead of
my rookie-matters: The inconsistency which was troubling is already
eliminated in Version 10.05.

Raynald? pragmatic advice to upgrade my version resolved my problem.

If Spss can be made to highlight these errors I think it would help the end user so much
Over to the developers/programmers

Hi all,
(Version 10.01 under W2K)
Error # 1407
Error when writing the dictionary to a new data file.
This command not executed.
Warning # 5322. Command name: SAVE
The attempt to save the data file has failed because the disk is full, an
I/O error has occurred, or the task was interrupted. IF SAVING OVER AN
EXISTING FILE, THAT FILE HAS BEEN LOST. Clear some disk space or choose a
different device and try again.
(There is plenty of disk space left)
Who can resolve this?
Thanks in advance
Klaus
I've tried everyone's suggestions and nothing is working, it saved before with _ in and I even renamed my variable 'group' I have the latest version of SPSS - I think 25.

hi all, I also got this problem and I fixed it by changing the name of the variable view
ex: cong.viec --> job
maybe SPSS didn't regconise the special symbol like "."
hope you can get over it :)))
good luck
